About

You know the situation. You've finally secured yourself a date with Katie from accounts, or with that rugged yet handsome rugby player you spent the last ten cold, Saturday mornings admiring from afar in the local park. But Katie's a classy girl; she's not going to be satisfied with Burger and a Pint night at the local Wetherspoons. And rugged rugger guy might not appreciate a coffee date at the local Starbucks. Fear not. The daterbase aims to rid you of that stress.

We're not going to pretend we're dating gurus, or the next great matchmaker a la Sarah Beeny of mysinglefriend (and Property Ladder) fame; but we've got a good eye for date venues. Throw in a bit of imagination and an ongoing quest to piece together the perfect date night and the daterbase was born.

The idea for a list of potential venues throughout London, and a template for a memorable date first came up in February 2013. A mere six months of procrastination development later and the website was set up!

How to

London is awash with potential romantic date venues. By no means should you blindly follow the daterbases's recommendations, nor should the template date we might offer be taken as the one and only option. After all, you have to show at least a little bit of your own initiative if you're planning on turning date one into date one of many!

We aim to provide reviews of some of the more "off the beaten track" bars and restaurants, and string them together into a potential morning, afternoon or evening date to remember. Use it for inspiration for that perfect first date, or drop by to find a place for that mid-week after work catch up with your significant other. Be it your first, or one hundred and first date, we think we've put together a nice little date database, the daterbase.
